Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Palettes

Looking on website, The Chocolate Palette (Fall 2006) and The Stonewashed Palette (Fall 2007) look similar. However, once I try, I think it is quite different. The first palette is warm brown tone while the second one is the cool taupe tone.

The Package:

Once they are opened:

To compare the shadow colour:

Chocolate Palette
This contains 7 eyeshadows, 3 shimmer washed and 4 mattes
1 BONE: Matte off white that is good to use as a wash before building your eye look. This color doesn't show up on me at all
2 CARAMEL TOFFEE Shimmer Wash: Shimmery light gold beige that gives a subtle highlight to the browbone
3 FRAPPE: Sheer matte light tanshadow that is good for the crease for a 'no makeup' makeup look (on pale/light skin.)
4 CHAMPAGNE TRUFFLE Shimmer Wash: Shimmery medium beige with hing of soft pink that is good either on the lid with a deeper shade in the crease, or wear it in the crease with a deeper shade on lid for a smoky eye.
5 CACAO Shimmer Wash: Shimmery chocolate brown with a fairly versatile shade. Try on lid with Chocolate in the crease for a smoky eye, or wear in crease with a lighter shade on lid.
6 STONE: Sheer matte deep brown that makes a good crease shade or subtle liner.
7 CHOCOLATE: Matte milk chocolate brown that is good to apply on the lid for a smoky eye; in the crease; or as a liner.

Overall, this palette is good for those who crave day-time neutrals look

Stonewashed Palette
This contains 7 eye shadows, 4 shimmer washes and 3 mattes.
1 NAVAJO: Pale matte ivory. Similar to BB Bone, but less yellow & more cool. It is fine as a highlight, however, like BONE, I find that it rarely shows up on my lids.
2 MICA Shimmer Wash : Light-medium, shimmery, neutral taupey brown with a hint of muted gold shimmer. This is a great colour to apply anywhere; awesome as a wash, in the crease, along lashline, etc.
3 ASH Shimmer Wash : Light shimmery cool taupe. This is your go-to wash or lid color. For deeper skintones, this is the great highlight
4 HOT STONE: Medium matte cool taupe. This is the perfect crease/contour shade, as well as subtle liner for those w/ lighter skintones. This would build the perfect subtle smoky eye.
5 STONEWASH Shimmer Wash: Light-medium shimmery cool taupe w/ the faintest violet cast & subtle silver shimmer. It can be used as a shade to build a smoky eyes.
6 ROCK Shimmer Wash: Medium-deep shimmery neutral silver with strong taupe undertones. This shade is perfect for adding dimension to a smoky eye, or playing up the lashline.
7 ESPRESSO: Deep matte brown which can be used to define the lashline.
All shades except Espresso are exclusive to this palette.

I find the Stonewashed Palette to be silkier, smoother & not so sheer as the Chocolate Palette, which is a plus! The formula is just easier to work with & you can apply it as sheer or as dramatic as you wish

Overall, the Stonewashed Nudes Palette appears cooler toned than the Chocolate Palette but not extremely so that it would clash with warmer skin tones. I think it is good for both day and night time look
